Bitcoin Exchange Binance Announces It Will Support Network Upgrade for This Altcoin! Here Are the Details

Binance, one of the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchanges, has announced it will support a major network upgrade on the THORChain (RUNE) network.

According to the official statement from the exchange, in order to protect user experience and ensure the smooth progress of the technical process, token deposit and withdrawal transactions on the THORChain network will be temporarily suspended as of 23:00 on January 22, 2026.

Binance announced that the network upgrade will take place at block height 24,635,898, which corresponds to approximately 00:00 on January 23, 2026. It was specifically emphasized that only deposit and withdrawal transactions will be suspended during the upgrade process; trading will remain unaffected. This will allow users to continue trading tokens on the RUNE and THORChain networks without interruption.

The statement indicated that all technical requirements for the upgrade process would be handled by Binance on behalf of users. Thus, the transition would be automated without requiring any additional action from users. Binance stated that this approach aims to prevent potential technical disruptions and asset losses.

Deposit and withdrawal operations will be reopened once the upgraded network is confirmed to be stable. The company also stated that no further announcements will be made and operations will automatically return to normal.

THORChain stands out as a protocol offering decentralized and permissionless exchange across different blockchains. This network upgrade is expected to improve the network’s security, speed, and overall performance. Binance has warned its users to adjust their deposit and withdrawal plans accordingly, particularly during the specified hours.
