Telegram founder Pavel Durov announced that they plan to integrate a cryptocurrency wallet into the Telegram app this summer, a wallet that doesn’t offer a native storage service for GRAM and allows users to keep their assets under their own control.
In a post on his personal Telegram channel, Durov described the integration as “the largest non-custodial cryptocurrency wallet rollout in human history.” The new wallet is intended to be offered to Telegram’s more than one billion users and enable instant, fee-free cryptocurrency transactions through the application.
Durov stated that Telegram will bring a native GRAM wallet to all its applications, creating a structure where users will have direct control over their private keys and assets.
Following the announcement, the GRAM price experienced a brief surge. The token gained over 8%, reaching approximately $1.56. However, after this rise, GRAM gave back some of its gains, falling back to the $1.525 level.
