As cryptocurrency markets rebound after a prolonged and harsh “winter,” leading legal and strategy experts in the sector are seeking the answer to a critical question: Is the crypto winter truly over?
In the program featuring Josh Riezman, Head of Strategy and Legal at GSR, the current state of the market was examined through the lens of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and corporate token projects.
With increased market liquidity and the return of institutional interest, the narrative that “the crypto winter is over” has gained strength. However, Josh Riezman explains this process not only with price increases but also with the “maturation” of the sector. Following the bankruptcies and upheavals experienced during the crypto winter, it is noted that the surviving players are returning with a more solid infrastructure. The increase in merger and acquisition activity is seen as the biggest sign that the “clean-up” phase in the sector is over and that large capital has regained confidence in the sector.
Josh Riezman notes that while the darkest days of winter are behind us, regulatory uncertainties still have the potential to create a “cold wave.”
