Former CEO of Binance, Changpeng Zhao, also known as CZ, recently provided more details about Giggle Academy, an educational project he has been developing since his departure from the cryptocurrency market.

According to CZ's statement, the Giggle Academy team currently consists of 10 members, some working part-time, others full-time, and all working remotely. The team meets three times a week in addition to casual small talk. Hiring is ongoing, with CZ interviewing several times a week and aiming to build a team of 15 people initially.

According to the statement of the former CEO of Binance, the team completed the content of the first phonetics (English) course within the scope of the training program and started the production process of the course. In a strategic decision, the team chose to develop the Android version of the platform first, citing the prevalence of Android devices in their target markets and the ease of interaction provided by touch screens.

In a recent announcement, Zhao announced plans for the education project, which aims to provide children with free access to education by using new techniques. Giggle Academy, a non-profit organization, will have no revenue and will implement gamification and an adaptive curriculum for end users. The aim will be to provide free basic education (grades 1-12) for all.

The launch of this new platform comes amid ongoing legal challenges for Zhao in the US. Last year, Binance was part of a $4.3 billion settlement with the United States Department of Justice (DOJ).

Zhao pleaded guilty to money laundering charges on Nov. 21 and will be sentenced on April 30, according to court documents.
