American health technology company Semler Scientific continues its investments in Bitcoin.
Accordingly, the company, which announced that it purchased 581 Bitcoin for a total of 40 million dollars in late May, made another BTC purchase today.
The company announced that it purchased an additional 247 BTC for $17 million in cash.
In the statement made today, it was stated that this latest acquisition increased Semler Scientific's total Bitcoin reserves to 828 BTC and the total cost was $57 million.
Semler Scientific CEO Doug Murphy-Chutorian underlined the firm's commitment to Bitcoin as an attractive investment and a reliable store of value, saying:
“We will continue to pursue our strategy of purchasing Bitcoin with cash.
“We also believe that its digital, architectural flexibility makes Bitcoin preferable to gold, which has a market cap of approximately 10 times BTC.”
The company also reiterated that it has no plans to purchase cryptocurrency assets other than Bitcoin.
