The Beige Book document, a document that the FED regularly publishes regarding the course of the economy, has finally been published.
Here are the most important points in the Beige Book content:
- Price increases remained moderate on average, at approximately the same pace as the last report.
- Overall economic activity has expanded slightly on a balanced basis since the end of February.
- Employment increased at a slight pace overall.
- The economic outlook among interviewees was generally cautiously optimistic.
- Interviewees generally predict that inflation will remain steady at a slow pace going forward.
- Manufacturers in several regions perceived upside risks to near-term inflation.
This report was prepared by the Boston Fed based on information collected on or before April 8, 2024.
