XRP Lawyer: "I'd Be Shocked If Ripple-SEC Case Isn't Decided By This Date"

John Deaton, known as the lawyer of XRP altcoin owners, spoke about the outcome of the ongoing legal battle between Ripple and the SEC in a YouTube video he published.

Referring to the past decisions of Judge Analisa Torres, John Deaton has introduced a new timeline for when the summary judgment will be delivered.

As it will be remembered, Deaton had previously predicted the date of 6 May 2023 for the decision based on the previous report of the judge in the Daubert cases.

In his new estimate, Deaton also took into account the release of Hinman's speech documents to the public by June 13, 2023. He said Judge Torres could most likely make the decision by the end of September 2023.

Speaking in an interview on Friday, the lawyer explained that the verdict would make more sense if the decision was made after all the Hinman documents were made public:

“I will be in for a big shock if we don't get a decision from the Judge by the end of September. I would be absolutely shocked and I don't think that will happen."

It is already known that the summary verdict could be extremely important to the cryptocurrency market ecosystem in the United States, given the regulatory importance of the premise of the XRP lawsuit.

The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filed a lawsuit against Ripple in 2020, alleging that the company was selling XRP tokens in an unregistered securities offering.
