Ethereum (ETH) co-founder Vitalik Buterin, whose statements are closely followed, has made new remarks.
In a new post from account X, Vitalik Buterin said that Ethereum could help prevent the digital world from being taken over.
Buterin stated that he doesn’t believe Ethereum will solve all the world’s problems, but it could be used to advance freedoms such as financial privacy and autonomy.
Buterin stated that it is incorrect to view a cryptocurrency, or Ethereum in particular, as more than just a cryptocurrency. He added that it is also wrong to view crypto as a technology solely for efficiency or showmanship, in the style of companies like Apple or Google.
“Ethereum’s role is to create a ‘digital space’ where different entities can cooperate and interact.”
I think now is the time to focus more clearly on this area. Don’t try to be like Apple or Google, viewing crypto as a technology sector that provides efficiency or showmanship.”
Instead, Buterin argued that Ethereum should be seen as part of an ecosystem that creates a kind of secure environment technology. At this point, Buterin stated that Ethereum should play a role in expanding fundamental freedoms such as financial privacy and digital autonomy.
