USA and South Korea Unite Against Cryptocurrency Attacks!

While the efforts to prevent the crypto money revenues obtained by North Korea through cyber attacks and other illegal ways continue, the South Korea and USA working group held its 4th meeting.

The meeting was led by US Deputy Special Envoy to North Korea, Jung Pak, and his South Korean counterpart, Lee Jun-Il, local news sources reported.

In the statement made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Korea, it was stated that the main agenda item of the meeting was to prevent North Korea's ways of generating income and that full cooperation should be made in this regard.

The statement included the following:

“The meeting underlines the close cooperation between the governments of the United States and South Korea in an effort to disrupt North Korea's ability to generate revenue for its illicit weapons of mass destruction and ballistic missile programs.

The US and South Korea are working together against theft of cryptocurrencies and cyber attacks.

The working group discussed how to more effectively partner with foreign governments and industry leaders to raise awareness of the threat posed by North Korea and increase knowledge sharing between governments and the private sector on cybersecurity issues.”
