Cardano’s native token, ADA, surged approximately 11% on a day when the cryptocurrency market was generally quiet, recording one of the strongest performances among major cryptocurrencies.
ADA’s price surged above $0.27 during the rise, reaching one of its highest levels in recent months. Meanwhile, Bitcoin’s increase was limited to around 1%, while XRP gained approximately 1.3%.
There isn’t a single confirmed new announcement that has driven the surge in Cardano. Market data suggests the movement may be linked to a technical breakthrough following recent announcements of RealFi initiatives, institutional partnerships, and positive expectations for the Cardano ecosystem.
ADA’s 24-hour spot trading volume reaching approximately $1 billion indicated that market participation accompanied the rise. However, the daily trading volume of decentralized exchanges on Cardano decreased from $11.74 million on October 1st to $5.72 million on October 3rd.
The decrease in on-chain trading volume while the price was rising suggests that the movement may have been driven primarily by purchases on centralized exchanges. Therefore, it is too early to draw a definitive conclusion about whether the rise will be sustainable.
