Toncoin (TON) Founder Responds to Allegations About TON

In a recent announcement, Telegram founder Pavel Durov addressed concerns about the centralization of Toncoin (TON) due to private ad sales. He presented an outline of a plan that would limit Telegram's stake in TON to around 10% of the supply.

Durov acknowledged concerns that Telegram may hold an overly concentrated portion of Toncoin, which could be too concentrated for a decentralized ecosystem. “We acknowledge these concerns and have found a solution,” he said.

The solution involves selling the future surplus of Telegram's TON assets to long-term investors. These sales will be made under a 1-4 year lock-in and vesting plan, but at a discount to market price. This strategy aims to lock free floating TON altcoins, thus stabilizing the ecosystem and reducing volatility.

Durov expressed his satisfaction with the participation of longer-term investors. He believes that the participation of these people will help TON remain stable and decentralized. Durov concluded his words as follows:

“Thanks to the participation of more long-term investors, TON will remain stable and decentralized.”
