This Altcoin’s Value Pumped After WikiLeaks Founder’s Release

Following the release of Julian Assange from the United Kingdom's high-security Belmarsh prison, AssangeDAO's altcoin, known by the acronym JUSTICE, rose dramatically by over 80%.

The release of Assange, who had been imprisoned for exactly 1,901 days, on Monday triggered a significant rise in the token value.

According to data, the value of the token has increased by over 60% today.

AssangeDAO was established in February this year to raise funds to defend the freedom of the WikiLeaks founder. A representative of AssangeDAO explained in a post that of the 16,593 ETH (equivalent to approximately $37 million) raised since the organization's inception, more than 11,000 ETH were earmarked for legal defense and advocacy efforts.

The token's price rose sharply after Assange traveled to Saipan, the capital of the Northern Mariana Islands (NMI), a remote island in the Pacific and a US territory, on Monday.

Assange is now on his way to a courtroom on the island, where he is expected to plead guilty to a single charge as part of a plea deal on Wednesday. This agreement could end a five-year legal battle by allowing Assange to be released and return to his home country, Australia.
