Cryptocurrency payment processor Alphapo was hacked two days ago, losing over $23 million in various cryptocurrencies.
According to ZachXBT, hackers emptied Alphapo's Ethereum, Tron and Bitcoin hot wallets. They then bought more ETH using Ethereum and Tron tokens and bridged it to the Avalanche network. Bitcoins were also moved to another address.
ZachXBT stated in its update today that the size of the attack was $60 million, not $23 million.
“Hack update: An additional $37 million has been detected in TRON and BTC.
The total amount stolen has now increased to $60 million.
This hack looks like it was probably done by Lazarus as they created a very distinctive fingerprint on the chain.”
Alphapo was handling the cryptocurrency payment transactions of some popular online gambling platforms.
