Surprising Confession from CEO of Giant Cryptocurrency Exchange: 'Our Exchange App Is Not User-Friendly!'

Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong said the increased on-chain activity on the new Tier-2 network Base has revealed how “broken” the Coinbase app is in terms of user experience, and promised to improve the app.

CEO Brian Armstrong Admits Coinbase App Is 'Broken' in User Experience

Brian Armstrong said there will be a series of quick updates over the next two weeks addressing the biggest issues for Coinbase app users.

In an X (Twitter) post, Armstrong revealed a number of trouble spots were raised during “Onchain Summer,” a multi-week festival of product launches, brand activations, and non-replaceable token announcements in Base that started on August 9 and runs through August 31. He said he was out.

Armstrong said the event demonstrated the weakness of the Coinbase app's user experience for non-exchangeable tokens, decentralized apps, and tier 2s.

The CEO urged X users to send feedback in response to the issue in order to prioritize the most important issues, adding that there will be quick updates on the biggest pain points in the next two weeks.

The top-rated response at the time of publication was a request from Friendtech developer Racer for a quick credit card swap to Coinbase, which does not require users to open a separate account.

Following this came a request to fix a bug that was causing issues when connecting Coinbases' mobile wallet to Google Chrome, and Armstrong stated that the bug could take longer than expected.
