An important Tornado Cash decision came from Arbitrum, which was launched in 2023 and managed to become one of the favorite altcoins of investors with its performance after the airdrop.
ArbitrumDAO's proposal, which previously intended to donate $1.3 million in ARB to support the legal defense of Tornado Cash developers Roman Storm and Alexey Pertsev against criminal charges, has been withdrawn.
Sources with knowledge of the matter said the ArbitrumDAO offer was deleted by the bidder because ARB owners expressed concerns about whether such a donation would pose legal risks.
The proposal, submitted by Arbitrum investor Joseph Axisa, involved donating between 200,000 ARB-600,000 ARB tokens (equivalent to approximately $400,000-$1.2 million) to WeWantJusticeDAO, the legal defense fund for Tornado Cash developers Roman Storm and Alexey Pertsev, who are facing criminal charges. .
An Arbitrum representative confirmed in a statement to The Block that the offer was removed at the request of owner Joseph Axisa.
As you may remember, the US Department of Justice (DOJ) accused the developers of Tornado Cash for facilitating the laundering of more than $1 billion in money. Within the scope of these accusations, Tornado Cash developer Roman Storm was arrested.
