Transactions carried out by a mysterious whale with a large amount of assets in the cryptocurrency market have attracted attention.
According to on-chain data shared by Lookonchain, the whale exchanged 200.71 BTC, worth approximately $17.2 million, for 6,247 ETH in its latest transaction.
This transaction wasn’t the whale’s first move in its Bitcoin-to-Ethereum transition. The address in question reportedly sold a total of 1,308 BTC and bought 40,670 ETH in return over the past six days. At the time of these transactions, the total value of the assets was estimated at approximately $104 million.
The whale invested all of the Ethereum it purchased in staking. This detail suggests that the transactions may be a longer-term strategy aimed at generating returns on ETH, rather than a short-term trading activity.
It’s noteworthy that Bitcoin’s price has risen more recently than Ethereum’s, despite its smaller market capitalization. However, this whale’s purchase doesn’t necessarily mean the transaction will be profitable.
