Eric Larchevêque, the founder of Ledger, one of the world's largest hardware cryptocurrency and Bitcoin wallet manufacturers, may have been kidnapped for ransom, according to unconfirmed developments reported by local French media.

Larchevêque's kidnappers reportedly asked for ransom in Bitcoin.

According to unconfirmed reports, the French police and the National Gendarmerie Intervention Group (GIGN) are currently investigating in the Vienne region of France. The kidnapping occurred in Mairé, a small town where Eric Larcheveque has a mansion.

However, The Big Whale, another French media organization from within the sector, argued in a statement that the rumors of Larchevêque's kidnapping were not true.

However, the fact that no statement has yet been made by Larchevêque himself has increased skepticism.

However, Changpeng Zhao (CZ), the founder of the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange Binance, also got involved in the incident. CZ said that he saw the news that the Ledger founder was kidnapped, but some news denied it. He added that he was not sure what was true at the moment, and the truth will come out soon.

It should also be noted that Larchevêque is not currently serving as Ledger's CEO.
