According to on-chain data obtained from various sources, there is activity in the Bitcoin wallets seized by the US government regarding the Silk Road hack. According to the data, Bitcoins were moved.
Similarly, in the past weeks, some claims have been made that the Bitcoins in Silk Road wallets seized by the USA have taken action, and this turned out to be a false alarm.
However, when the latest on-chain data is examined, it is observed that approximately 1,500 Bitcoins have been released from one of the wallets previously associated with the US government this time. There is currently no information on whether this exit is made to another wallet or to the wallet address of a central exchange.
When we examine the data on Glassnode as Bitcoinsistemi.com, it is seen that there is an output of 1500 BTC.
On the other hand, according to different claims, the related wallet is a wallet to which James Zhong, one of Silkroad's prime suspects, previously sent BTC. Therefore, it is considered related to Silkroad. But there is no clear evidence yet that the wallet is controlled by the US government.
TL;DR:
– address is 100% associated/related to James Zhong/Silk Road
– not 100% sure if the receiving wallet is controlled by the USG— Steven (@Dogetoshi) June 20, 2023
