Ripple (XRP) has filed its appeal against the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC) request for permission to file a provisional appeal.
The SEC had implied that it would appeal Judge Torres's ruling that XRP does not constitute a security when sold on exchanges. As a recent development, Ripple has filed an appeal against the SEC's anticipated appeal.
In its letter, Ripple gathered the reasons for opposing the appeal under the following main headings:
The court's decision does not contain any legal control issues. The SEC fails to provide any substantial justification for the difference of opinion.
Immediate appeal will not end this case.
