According to a court filing just filed, Binance and its CEO and founder, Changpeng Zhao, plan to seek the dismissal of a Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) complaint alleging that the company violated the Commodity Exchange Act and some related federal regulations.
On March 27, 2023, the CFTC accused cryptocurrency exchange Binance and its CEO, Changpeng Zhao, of deliberately violating federal law and operating an illegal digital asset derivatives exchange.
The accusation made by the CFTC at that time claimed that Binance has been offering commodity derivatives transactions to and for US citizens since July 2019.
