JUST IN: Arizona State Considers Adding Bitcoin Spot ETFs to Citizens’ Retirement Portfolios

The Arizona State Senate passed a resolution to consider adding my Bitcoin ETFs to retirement portfolios.

The Fifty-Sixth Legislature, in its Second Regular Session, encouraged the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS) and the Public Safety Personnel Retirement System (PSPRS) to pursue Bitcoin ETFs and other digital asset ETFs.

The Legislature invited ASRS and PSPRS to consider the implications of including a digital asset ETF in their investment portfolios. They were also asked to closely monitor developments in Bitcoin ETFs and other digital asset ETFs. Purposely, after consulting with any firm that has received approval by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to offer a digital asset ETF, they are asked to evaluate the implications of including such assets in their investment portfolios.

The Legislature also requested a comprehensive report on the feasibility, risk and potential benefits of directing some state retirement system money into digital asset ETFs. This report will include a list of options and recommendations on how the government can safely invest in the digital asset class.
