JUST IN: Apple Allegedly Removed MetaMask App from App Store

Update

MetaMask is available for download on the App Store again.

Apple has reportedly removed its most popular cryptocurrency wallet app, MetaMask, from its app store, the App Store.

When you try to access the store page of the application, a page saying “Connecting…” appears and this is not available in any other application.

If Apple has indeed removed the MetaMask app from its store, this means that users will not be able to reinstall the app if they uninstall it.

Additionally, users will no longer be able to receive updates for the application from the App Store. This is a particularly negative development for applications that need to stay up to date to maintain a high level of security, such as cryptocurrency wallet applications.

However, it seems that other cryptocurrency wallet applications such as Trust Wallet continue to be available in the application store.

We have previously seen that Apple removes applications from its store that make sales within the application but do not pay commission to Apple, but if MetaMask is really no longer available in the App Store, the reason for this is not yet clear.
