In the long-running legal battle between Ripple (XRP), there has been an exciting development that can be considered in favor of Ripple, with the court's decision to make the Hinman documents public.
Ripple (XRP) CEO Garlinghouse: "I'm Waiting For The Case To Be Concluded In The Next Week"
However, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse, who recently attended the Web3 and DeFi-themed ReDeFine Tomorrow 2023 summit, made interesting statements about the course of the case.
Garlinghouse said in his statement that he expects the court to make a decision this year, or even in the coming weeks, not months.
After Garlinghouse said that he thought the court decision would be announced in the coming weeks, the moderator of the program he attended could not hide his surprise.
Ripple CEO also spoke about the Hinman documents and reminded that they will be announced by June 13. Garlinghouse stated that this development is important for transparency and also constitutes evidence that XRP was not informed by the SEC that it could be a security, thus violating the disclosure principles.
Garlinghouse said that XRP is fighting on behalf of the entire cryptocurrency world and that they have spent a lot of money on this path.
The Ripple-SEC lawsuit was filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Ripple Labs Inc., a financial technology company that created XRP. It is a legal dispute between The SEC alleges that company executives, including Ripple and Brad Garlinghouse, made $1.3 billion in unregistered securities offerings by selling XRP, which the SEC considers a security under US law.
