Ethereum and XRP Statements from Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse

Fox Business' cryptocurrency journalist Eleanor Terrett explained in her statement the details of the speech given by Brad Garlinghouse, CEO of Ripple, the company behind XRP, at the conference called “the future of digital assets”.

According to Terrett, Ripple CEO said in his statement that Ethereum is not a security, and in addition, XRP is not a security either. Garlinghouse stated that the SEC was “very wrong” and called SEC chairman Gary Gensler “an unethical person.”

The SEC maintains that all cryptocurrencies other than Bitcoin are securities and must be registered with the SEC. However, the institution, which previously had a more moderate attitude towards Ethereum, has recently been working on the fact that ETH is also a security.

However, in his tweet, Garlinghouse expressed his excitement at the increase in the amount of events held by the XRP community this year, including XRP Las Vegas and XRPL apex, as well as the XRP Gold Coast event in March.

Garlinghouse also expressed his welcome for new native capabilities for projects built on the XRP Ledger.
