Şahap Kavcıoğlu, President of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT), answered journalists' questions at the information meeting on inflation forecasts.
The CBRT's 2023 year-end inflation forecast remained unchanged at 22.3%, while the 2024 inflation forecast remained unchanged at 8.8%.
Answering the questions at the information meeting, Kavcıoğlu said, "Is there a slowdown in digital lira studies?" He answered the question as follows:
"Our general managers are working very hard on FAST and Digital Lira. Works are continuing as planned.
We got to a good point in the pilot phase. It has passed certain processes. Together with our stakeholders, we continue our work intensively at certain stages.
I can say this, the process is going as normal. We continue by making progress ahead of the countries interested in this business in the world.
It's a difficult process, not an easy one."
