Cryptocurrency exchange Binance CEO CZ sent an internal email today about employee chat logs disclosed by the SEC, saying it has done great damage to Binance's reputation, according to Chinese local media Odaily; reminded the employees that the inspectors would request the chat recordings.
He stressed that they should remain calm in difficult times and continue to develop products that people can use.
Here is the content of the email Binance CEO sent to his employees:
"Binancians,

As you can see, even though this was just 2 guys ranting about "privately" 5 years ago, this is extremely damaging to our (and their) reputation. I would like to remind everyone:
Binance cooperates with investigators. Usually the first thing they want is our chat logs. Everything you say may/will one day appear in the courtroom (or on the Internet).
For your information, we do not control employee chat logs. Actually I (CZ) see this for the first time.
It's outrageous for the SEC to use this in a statement, but we'll let the lawyers handle it.
More importantly, if you're not comfortable working at Binance (or any company), you should talk to your managers and perhaps seriously consider your career choice.
Don't waste your energy and if you dedicate your life to something you don't like, you won't be good at it anyway. If you stay, make sure you love your job and our mission: freedom of money.
We need people who are fully committed to this mission, as we have "several" challenges to overcome to achieve this goal.

In letters published by the SEC, in 2018, a Binance employee said in chat that they operated an unregistered securities exchange in the United States.
