While studies on cryptocurrencies continue in Turkey, after Minister Mehmet Şimşek, a statement was made by Central Bank President Hafize Gaye Erkan.
Central Bank (CBRT) Governor Hafize Gaye Erkan announced the 4th Inflation Report of 2023.
Making a statement about Turkey’s fight against inflation and inflation expectations, Erkan also talked about cryptocurrencies.
Stating that cryptocurrency regulation studies are continuing, CBRT President said, “We are working together with the CMB, cryptocurrency studies are continuing.” said.
Erkan, who also announced the inflation target, said that they predict that inflation in Turkey will peak in May 2024.
Accordingly, the CBRT President said, “We estimate that inflation will be 65% at the end of 2023; 36.0% at the end of 2024; and 14% at the end of 2025. We also estimate that inflation will peak between 70-75% in May 2024.” .” said.
