Cryptocurrencies Became an Election Promise in Another Country: 'He Will Do This If He Is Elected as a Presidential Candidate!'

As Indonesia prepares for the upcoming presidential elections, leading vice presidential candidate and son of current Indonesian President Joko Widodo, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, has announced plans to promote blockchain and cryptocurrency expertise within the country.

Indonesian Vice Presidential Candidate Promises to Train 'Crypto Experts' Ahead of Election

Gibran, who was selected as deputy to presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto in February's elections, outlined a vision to improve technology education in Indonesia during a political event last week.

At the forefront of this initiative is the desire to create a pool of experts in emerging fields, including blockchain and cryptocurrencies.

“We are preparing blockchain experts, we are preparing cybersecurity experts, we are preparing crypto experts,” Gibran said at a political meeting on December 10, signaling his determination to position Indonesia at the forefront of technological developments.

Indonesia has quickly become a major player in the global cryptocurrency world, ranking seventh in Chainalysis' 2023 global crypto adoption index.

With an estimated 18 million crypto investors, the country shows strong interest in digital assets. Additionally, Indonesia has a strong industry association that acts as both a self-regulating body and a catalyst for further crypto-related activity.
