On Fox Business’s “Mornings with Maria,” Coinbase Chief Policy Officer Faryar Shirzad pointed to a critical turning point in Bitcoin regulation. Shirzad announced that the bill known as the Bitcoin Market Structure Bill (Clarity Act) will undergo markup in the House Financial Services Committee this month and will be presented to the House floor in May.
Shirzad made the following statements in the interview she gave on the program:
“Since the initial markup in the Banking Committee a few months ago, excellent work has been done. We are also resolving a critical issue regarding stablecoin rewards. We hope Chair Scott will schedule the markup this month so that the bill can go to the House in May, securing a significant bipartisan victory for President Trump and Congress.”
A Coinbase official argued that the bill has strong support among both Republicans and Democrats, and that ending regulatory uncertainty would allow institutions to enter the cryptocurrency market more easily. Shirzad conveyed the message, “Clarity is coming.”
