In a significant development, Circle and Stellar announced that the Euro-pegged stablecoin EURC will be listed on the Stellar network. The announcement was made at Meridian 2023, Stellar's annual conference in Madrid.
Currently available on the Ethereum and Avalanche cryptocurrency networks, EURC has a market cap of $52.31 million and a 24-hour trading volume of $1.14 million. With its listing on the Stellar network, the stablecoin is set to expand its reach and influence.
Speaking at the conference, the team said: “The launch of EURC on Stellar has the potential to radically improve European remittance corridors, cross-border payments, treasury management and aid payments.”
This move marks an important step in the integration of digital currencies into mainstream financial systems.
In their statement today, the Stellar developer team also introduced the Stellar Wallet SDK as a new development:
“Today, we announced the new Stellar Wallet SDK, which makes it easier than ever to create a wallet native to the Stellar network and access payment channels and use cases on the network.”
