Senior Chinese government officials will hold a major press conference on Wednesday at 05:00 (Turkish time) to provide information on the implementation of recently announced economic stimulus measures.
Five senior officials, including National Development and Reform Commission Chairman Zheng Shanjie, will attend the briefing organized by the State Council Information Office.
According to the official announcement, the conference will focus on “systematically implementing a suite of incremental policies to robustly promote economic growth, structural optimization and sustainable development momentum.” However, no further details were provided ahead of the event.
The press conference comes on the first business day after China’s National Day holiday and a week-long hiatus. Ahead of the holiday period, the People’s Bank of China has taken a number of measures to support the economy, including cutting interest rates and injecting liquidity into the banking system. In addition, regulators have eased property market restrictions as part of a comprehensive stimulus package, sending Chinese stocks soaring.
