Chainlink, a decentralized oracle network, announced the launch of LINK staking v0.2 with a size of 45 million LINK tokens.
Chainlink (LINK) Launches a New Staking Program
The total value of the pool is approximately 650 million dollars, 40.875 million of the 45 million LINK tokens will be allocated to the community and the rest to Chainlink Node operators.
Community members can stake between 1 and 15,000 LINK tokens, and node operators can stake between 1,000 and 75,000 LINK tokens. The Staking v0.2 pool will offer a rewards system, improved security and a more flexible staking process.
What is Chainlink (LINK)?
Chainlink (LINK) is a cryptocurrency project with the vision of fostering a global, decentralized oracle network across countless computers to provide trustworthy, real data to smart contracts running on various blockchains.
These actual data points that can be connected to blockchain-based smart contracts are known as “oracles.” Each oracle on the Chainlink decentralized oracle network is incentivized to provide accurate data by assigning a reputation score to each.
When Oracle follows the software's rules and provides accurate data, the Chainlink network is rewarded with the native ERC-20 cryptocurrency token LINK.
