Following the CPI data announced yesterday and coming in above expectations, data on the Producer Price Index (PPI) was announced today.
The data disclosed is as follows:
Producer Price Index (PPI) (Annual): Announced 1.6% – Expected 1.2% – Previous 0.8%
Producer Price Index (PPI) (Monthly): Announced 0.7% – Expected 0.4% – Previous 0.4%
Core Producer Price Index (PPI) (Annual): Announced 2.2% – Expected 2.2% – Previous 2.4%
Core Producer Price Index (PPI) (Monthly): Announced 0.2% – Expected 0.2% – Previous 0.3%
Apart from PPI data, data on applications for unemployment benefits were also announced.
Unemployment Benefits Applications Announced 220k – Expected 225k – Previous 216k
