According to breaking information, the SEC postponed BlackRock's application for Ethereum Spot ETF.
The second deadline for the application in question ended on Sunday of the current week.
Bloomberg ETF Analyst Eric Balchunas had put the probability of a spot Ethereum ETF approval at 70% by May. However, the analyst stated that he will share a new analysis with updated rates in a short time.
BlackRock filed for a spot Ethereum ETF called iShares Ethereum Trust in November. Cryptocurrency experts are both optimistic and pessimistic that a spot ETH ETF is on the horizon, with some speculating that approval from the SEC could come as early as May, following the approval of spot Bitcoin ETFs.
Additionally, futures-based Ethereum ETF products are already available for trading in the US market. However, these products did not attract much attention and were initially launched without much interest from traders.
On the other hand, according to last minute information, the SEC also postponed Fidelity's spot Ethereum ETF application.
