MetaMask is preparing to add a new stablecoin to its crypto wallet ecosystem. According to a management proposal submitted by TokenLogic on August 5, 2025, the stablecoin, named “MetaMask USD (mmUSD),” was put out to community vote for integration into the Aave v3 Core protocol on the Ethereum and Linea networks.
The new stablecoin will reportedly be issued via the Stripe-supported Bridge protocol. This process will utilize the M^0 network to provide a fully on-chain issuance and payment mechanism.
MetaMask USD (mmUSD) is being positioned as the core asset of the MetaMask ecosystem. It aims to be integrated into all MetaMask interfaces, including Wallet, Swap, Buy/Sell, and Earn. Developers expect this integration to increase stablecoin liquidity, organically grow distribution, and create a superior experience for DeFi users.
