The Montenegrin Court of Appeals overturned the decision to extradite Do Kwon, the jailed co-founder of the Terra network, to the United States.
The Court of Appeal said it overturned the extradition decision, stating that there were “serious violations of criminal procedure provisions” in the legal action that led to the extradition decision in February.
As you may recall, last month, Do Kwon objected to the decision to send him to the United States to stand trial on fraud charges in connection with Terra's $60 billion failure in May 2022.
Since the extradition decision was overturned after this objection, Do Kwon, who was expected to be extradited to the USA at the end of the month, may not be extradited to the USA.
“The decision of the appeals court provides judicial confirmation that the extradition order is illegal, just like the previous ones,” Do Kwon's lawyer Goran Rodic told DL News. said
After the appeals court's decision, it will go to the lower court for a retrial.
