Decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol Velodrome has announced the merging of the Aerodrome and Velodrome communities in preparation for the upcoming launch of Aero. According to the announcement, Velodrome’s social media and community channel activities will be gradually brought together under the Aero umbrella.
Velodrome announced that, starting September 10th, the @VelodromeFi X account will be less active, and news, updates, and announcements will primarily be shared via the @aeroxyz account. On the same day, the Velodrome Discord server will be downsized, leaving only essential channels open, and all community activities will be redirected to the existing Aero Discord server.
The transition process is expected to directly impact the VELO token as well. Velodrome announced that VELO’s trading on Binance is planned to end this week as part of the Aero preparations. However, the public audit competition for Aero is expected to conclude on September 21st.
Following the announcement, VELO experienced sharp volatility. On Binance, the VELO/USDT pair briefly dropped from approximately $0.0268 to $0.0252 before quickly recovering to around $0.0265.
