BNB Chain, a blockchain network originally created by Binance, today announced the launch of opBNB, a Layer 2 network.
opBNB is a Layer 2 network within the BNB Chain ecosystem, developed using Optimism's OP Stack.
It was stated that the purpose of this network is to increase the speed of transactions and help reduce dapp fees.
“We are excited to announce the launch of opBNB's mainnet on September 13, 2023, a major milestone for the BNB Chain ecosystem.
opBNB is the layer 2 network of the BNB Smart Chain and is designed to revolutionize blockchain technology by making blockchain technology accessible to everyone by significantly reducing gas fees, which is a core part of BNB Chain's mission.”
BNB Chain developers also said in their statement that they tested more than 35 million transactions during the testing phase of opBNB.
“Scalability and security are opBNB's top priorities. Necessary testing was done and criteria were met before making it publicly available on the mainnet,” said Arno Bauer, Senior Architect at BNB Chain. said.
