The value of digital assets managed by BlackRock rose to $79.6 billion in the third quarter. This increase was largely driven by the recovery in cryptocurrency prices.

BlackRock, one of the world’s largest asset management companies, recorded a strong recovery in its cryptocurrency funds in the third quarter of the year. The total value of digital assets under the company’s management increased from $48.8 billion at the end of June to $79.6 billion at the end of September.

This figure indicates approximately 63% growth over the three-month period. However, the increase was not entirely due to new investor inflows. According to BlackRock data, of the total $30.8 billion increase, $22.9 billion came from the appreciation in cryptocurrency prices.

Investors poured a net $7.9 billion into BlackRock’s digital asset products during the same period. This inflow more than offset the approximately $2.2 billion outflow recorded in the first six months of 2026. The data shows that institutional investor demand strengthened again in the third quarter after market pressure in the first half of the year.

Despite this, BlackRock’s crypto assets remain below last year’s levels. A year ago, the company managed approximately $104 billion in digital assets. The current figure is 23% lower than that. While there has been a net inflow of $6.3 billion into assets over the past 12 months, price declines have wiped out approximately $30.6 billion from the total value.

BlackRock generated $39 million in fees and securities lending income from its digital asset products, including the iShares Bitcoin Trust, in the third quarter. The company did not separately disclose asset and cash flow figures for its Bitcoin fund in its balance sheet. Therefore, the exact breakdown of the $79.6 billion total across the products is unknown.
