BitMEX founder Arthur Hayes announced that Flop Labs, the AI agent project he leads as CEO, plans to launch its testnet in October. Hayes stated that following the testnet phase, the mainnet is targeted to launch in the first quarter of next year.
Speaking at the Token2049 event, Hayes shared details regarding Flop Labs’ development schedule. According to the announcement, the project’s testnet will launch in October and will run for approximately 90 days.
During this period, users are expected to test the Flop Labs infrastructure and participate in the project’s pre-mainnet process. The testnet phase will allow for the evaluation of the project’s technical performance and user interactions before the mainnet launch.
Hayes stated that following the completion of the 90-day testing period, the Flop Labs mainnet is planned to be deployed in the first quarter of next year. However, no specific date for the mainnet launch was shared.
Flop Labs will also implement a token incentive program for testnet participants. According to Hayes, users who join the test network will be eligible to receive an airdrop for the project’s FLOP token.
The total amount of FLOPs to be distributed as part of the airdrop, the number of tokens per participant, and details regarding the eligibility requirements were not included in the announcement.
Flop Labs, which focuses on the field of artificial intelligence agents, will launch its testnet, marking a significant milestone in the project’s public technical testing process. If the planned schedule is followed, the project will transition to the mainnet in the first quarter of next year, following a 90-day testnet period.
