Blockchain data platform Lookonchain reported that a Bitcoin wallet that had been inactive for over four years has been reactivated, transferring a total of 4,500 BTC. These Bitcoins are said to be worth approximately $381.38 million at the time of the transaction.
According to Lookonchain’s report, the wallet identified as “bc1qln” has made a Bitcoin transaction for the first time in over four years. The total amount transferred from the wallet was 4,500 BTC, with a total value estimated at approximately $381.4 million.
The fact that Bitcoin wallets that had been inactive for a long time have started making transactions again is noteworthy in terms of on-chain activity. However, Lookonchain has not shared any information about the person or organization behind the transfer or the purpose of the transaction.
On the Bitcoin blockchain, wallet transaction history and periods of inactivity are publicly tracked. Therefore, the reactivation of high-volume wallets that have been inactive for years is closely monitored by on-chain data providers.
The transfer of 4,500 BTC, worth approximately $381.38 million, makes it one of the most notable on-chain transactions recently. However, the fact that the wallet moved its assets to another address doesn’t automatically mean the Bitcoins were sold. The transfer could also have been made to an exchange, a custody service, or another wallet.
The Lookonchain report did not provide additional details regarding the address to which the transfer was made, the purpose of the transaction, or how the BTC will be used in the future. Therefore, the available data only reveals that the wallet, which had been inactive for over four years, moved 4,500 BTC.
