Hackers posted several messages on MicroStrategy's X account promoting the issuance of a token called the “MSTR token” and linking to a website under the “microstralegy” domain.
These posts were identified as phishing messages designed to deceive users.
ZachXBT, a blockchain researcher, noted in an X post that an estimated $440,000 may have been stolen from the hacker. This figure is based on the value of the assets at the time of the incident.
MicroStrategy did not immediately respond to requests for comment. However, the phishing posts were later removed from account X.
This incident highlights the ongoing security issues faced by companies in the crypto space.
