Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase is preparing to add two new assets developed on the Base network to its spot trading market. According to an announcement by Coinbase Markets on August 25th, spot trading for Basecat (BASECAT) and DebtReliefBot (DRB) will be available in supported regions, provided the necessary liquidity conditions are met.
The exchange announced that US dollar-based trading pairs will be created for both assets. Accordingly, the BASECAT-USD and DRB-USD trading pairs will be available to investors in regions where trading is supported. Coinbase emphasized that the launch of trading depends on market conditions and sufficient liquidity.
Basecat and DebtReliefBot tokens will be among the new assets traded on the Base network following Coinbase’s announcement. Base operates as an Ethereum Layer 2 network powered by Coinbase, hosting various crypto projects with the goal of offering low transaction costs and high transaction capacity.
Individual investors will be able to access the new spot trading pairs through Coinbase’s website, mobile app, and advanced trading platform, Coinbase Advanced. Institutional clients will be able to trade the relevant assets through Coinbase Exchange.
Coinbase’s new token listings expand investor access to new projects in the market, while also enabling listed assets to reach a wider user base in terms of liquidity and trading volume. However, the exchange notes that the launch of trading support may not be automatically available in every region.
While no specific timeframe was given for when trading would begin for BASECAT and DRB, Coinbase stated that the trading pairs could be rolled out gradually once the necessary liquidity conditions are met.
The new listing is noteworthy as it increases the visibility of Base ecosystem tokens on major centralized cryptocurrency exchanges. It is important for investors to review the tokens’ network information, liquidity status, and associated risks before making a transaction.
