There are only three days left until Bitcoin's halving event, which the entire cryptocurrency market is eagerly awaiting.
Thanks to this event, which takes place every four years, the amount of BTC given to Bitcoin miners as a reward per block will be reduced by half, and thus the supply of newly released BTC to the market will also be halved.
The halving in Bitcoin is expected to take place on April 20, 2024 at 01:04, Turkey time (UTC+3) at the time of writing this article. However, the time when the halving will occur is updated after each block production in BTC, so minor changes may occur. Halving, BTC network 840,000. will happen after removing the block.
The halving will be observed around 6 pm US Eastern Time (ET).
Starting from the halving, the block reward amount will be reduced to 3,125 BTC, which has been 6.25 BTC for the last four years.
The next halving is expected to take place on April 10, 2028, and the block rewards will be reduced to 1.5625 BTC this time.
BTC block rewards are expected to end in 2140. From this date, BTC miners will continue to receive a share of BTC transfer fees only.
