South Korea-based cryptocurrency exchange Bithumb has announced plans to list a new digital asset. According to the official statement, the Based (BASED) token will be added to the platform with a trading pair against the South Korean won (KRW).
According to information shared by the exchange, deposit and withdrawal operations for BASED will begin approximately one hour after the announcement is published. Trading of the token is planned to start on April 21, 2026, at 17:00.
The initial reference price for BASED has been set at 167 won, and transactions will be conducted via the Ethereum network. It was emphasized that users should only make transfers through the specified network.
Bithumb has announced that it will implement some trading restrictions for BASED, as it does for new listings. Accordingly, buy orders will be temporarily suspended for the first 5 minutes after trading begins.
During the same period, sell orders will be limited to levels between 10% below and 100% above the reference price. Furthermore, only limit orders will be allowed for the first two hours.
The exchange warned investors to be cautious about transfer transactions. It specifically noted that recovering assets could take a long time, particularly in cases of incorrect network usage. Furthermore, it stated that under travel regulations, transfers would only be supported through compliant exchanges.
Authorities reminded investors that crypto assets involve high risk and emphasized that they should carefully examine project details before making any transactions.
