What is Realized Price?

Realized Price is calculated by dividing Bitcoin’s Realized Market Capitalization (Realized Cap) by the total circulating supply. Unlike the classic spot price, this metric is based on the price of each Bitcoin on the day it was last transferred (purchased) on the network.

In its simplest terms, it shows the average cost basis (break-even point) of all Bitcoin investors in the market. Therefore, it acts as an extremely strong on-chain psychological support and resistance level on the price chart.

How to Interpret It? (Average Cost Psychology)

🟢 Price > Realized Price (Bull Market / Strong Support): When the current Bitcoin price is above the Realized Price line, it indicates that the market is generally in profit. During uptrends, as the price approaches this line, investors refrain from selling because they have reached their cost basis (break-even point), making this level act as a solid support.

🔴 Price < Realized Price (Capitulation / Historic Buying Opportunity): When the current price falls below this average cost line, it shows that the majority of the market is at a loss, experiencing widespread panic (capitulation). However, historically, this zone (periods when the price stays below the Realized Price) has formed the biggest macro bottoms in Bitcoin’s history, offering life-changing “discount” opportunities for long-term investors.
