Cathie Wood, founder of Ark Invest, a crypto investment firm and spot Bitcoin ETF issuer and one of Bitcoin’s biggest proponents, compared BTC to gold.
In a recent interview with Bloomberg, Cathie Wood reiterated her long-term bullish outlook for Bitcoin, describing it as a far superior alternative to gold.
Wood argued that BTC serves as a modern hedge against both inflation and deflation, a role similar to gold, but its digital nature makes BTC structurally superior and gives it a “structural advantage over gold”.
Wood explained that demand for gold has reached a mature stage, but Bitcoin’s adoption by institutions and individual investors is still in its early stages.
At this point, Wood noted that Bitcoin adoption is still in its early stages, institutional investor participation is increasing, and young investors are preferring digital assets like Bitcoin over gold.
Finally, Wood added that he sees Bitcoin and digital assets as a generational turning point in finance and focuses on long-term growth rather than short-term market volatility.
Despite the price drop, Ark Invest is increasing its investments in cryptocurrencies. Accordingly, the company has purchased shares in Bitmine, Bullish, and Robinhood, and also holds ETFs linked to Block, Circle, and Coinbase.
