Decentralized exchange (DEX) Hyperliquid announced on Discord that 1.2 million HYPE tokens belonging to Hyperliquid Labs will be unstaken today and distributed to team members on January 6th.
The statement also indicated that similar distributions in the future will be carried out on the 6th of each month.
Following the development, the HYPE price experienced a limited decline during the day. According to market data, HYPE is trading at $25.27 at the time of writing, down 1.08% in the last 24 hours. The token reached its all-time high of $59.39 on September 18, 2025, while its all-time low was $3.20 on November 29, 2024. Based on the current price, HYPE is approximately 57% below its peak.
While the token’s maximum supply is 961 million tokens, there are currently 339 million HYPE tokens in circulation before the token is unlocked.
Hyperliquid had become one of the most popular decentralized cryptocurrency platforms of 2025. Having reached an all-time high price record before the general downturn, HYPE faded from the spotlight with the overall decline.
