Blockchain security firm PeckShieldAlert stated in its X post that the official X account of the popular altcoin Decentraland (MANA) was hacked and warned investors.
PeckShieldAlert reported that attackers shared a phishing link disguised as a MANA token airdrop to deceive followers of the Decentraland platform.
Accordingly, the link shared by the attackers redirects users to a website that directs them to request the token airdrop by connecting their wallets, but shortly after, their funds appear to be compromised.
At this point, PeckShieldAlert advised users to refrain from interacting with the official Decentraland account, not clicking on links or engaging with related content.
PeckShieldAlert said that users should wait for the official statement from Decentraland regarding their account security.
#PeckShieldAlert @decentraland's X has been compromised. The phishing site is launch-decentraland[.]org.
