Binance, one of the world's largest cryptocurrency exchanges, appointed Richard Teng as its new CEO, replacing Changpeng Zhao, who resigned.

Teng, who has over three decades of financial services and regulatory experience, joined Binance as CEO of Binance Singapore in August 2021.
He soon took on roles overseeing the Middle East and Europe regions, eventually becoming Binance Head of Regional Markets, responsible for all regions outside the US.

In this role, he led regional teams to secure strategic partnerships, foster an innovation ecosystem, and expand the cryptocurrency ecosystem in relevant regions.
Prior to joining Binance, Teng served as CEO of the Financial Services Regulatory Authority at Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), where he showcased his talents as one of the world's leading innovative regulators.
Teng's extensive experience includes previous roles as Chief Regulatory Officer at the Singapore Exchange (SGX) and Director of Corporate Finance at the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
He holds a Master of Applied Finance (Distinction) from the University of Western Australia and a Bachelor of Accounting (First Class) from Nanyang Technological University.
